Drama: Character Observation

This woman's name is Margaret Baker, she is 73 years old. She lives in the same house she has lived in since the 1950s with her husband, Donald. Her doctors believe she is beginning to suffer from Dementia but as of yet she is not being treated. Yesterday she went missing from her home, it was assumed she had wandered off and got lost, the police had begun searching for her. She reappeared today in the middle of Sheffield city, having no recollection of her absence and having been seen by no one; despite emerging from a busy area. In is unclear to the authorities how she was able to get through the cold night on her own, given that she is an old lady. They did discover small circular burn marks on her body, although her clothes are completely untouched. She is taken to the hospital for examination, which is where she will likely be tomorrow. She just wants to go home but seems confused and is too tired to struggle. To the ambulance service she appears to be in shock and they are forced to restrain her in the ambulance as she does not want to go with them. In the future, Margaret begins to recollect her experience, claiming she was engulfed by a bright light in her back garden. She becomes erratic when she remembers experiments performed on her that are consistent with her injuries. She confides in her husband but he fears she is becoming delusional and makes arrangements for her to be placed in a home for people suffering from
Alzheimer's Disease. Over the years she remembers more and comes to the conclusion that she was abducted by aliens. she spends her days sitting in a chair facing the window,  looking up at the sky and the nurses note her constant nightmares as she shouts, and talks in her sleep. She feels trapped by her situation compounded by her old age and inability to do everything for herself, she seems pretty lucid for a Dementia patient by her 'delusions' lead the doctors to believe she has developed Schizophrenia. On her 100th birthday she disappears from her room (which is usually locked and protected, to prevent harm) having stated the night before that she is expecting visitors in the morning, the nurses dismissed this at the time as her husband had not visited for years, having died some time before and she had no other immediate family. She remains missing and her case is unsolved.

This man is Alfred Beckins, He is 64 years old. Alfred or Al as he is known to friends is a successful microbiologist who resides close to the university with his wife. They live in a regular semi-detached house and he is quite content working at his job as lecturer at The University of Sheffield. He is known for his long white hair and bushy beard which he has maintained (although not grey) since his youth in the 60s. He has been married to his wife since 1970 and his two children have grown up and moved away. He still enjoys his research although, it has been many years since he traveled so it is nothing he can't do from home. In recent years he has become increasingly engaged in the microbiology found in ice buried deep in the earth. This is because it can give an insight into the history of the earth as well as evolution. Yesterday was a regular day from him, he gave lectures in his usual lecture theater and spent the evening reading scientific journals. Tomorrow is an important day from him as he receives a call from an old colleague asking whether he would like to actually work with samples drilled from an arctic ridge. The work itself would require him to spend six months in the arctic circle and mean leaving his job at the university. However, he cannot decline the offer as it is a great opportunity for him. Three months later and he is flown out with the rest of the crew.
