Sound: Ideas for In Absentia

So I've decided to use the clip of In Absentia by the Quay Brothers and have watched the clip many times, the major themes are as follows.

- Absence (from the title, it is quite obviously a theme)
- Loss
- Regret
- Reminiscence
- Fear
- Entrapment

From these concepts I am beginning to craft some ideas for sounds in my head. I want to match sound on action (of course) but i also want to create an atmosphere and portray more subtle sounds that may be heard, whispered or remembered by the woman in the film. 

A particular part I will be recording to match the action will be the sound of writing / scrawling as well as the flickering lights that can be seen.
In terms of atmospheric sounds, I think I will create a simple tone / music that compliments the mood of the film as well as gathering recordings such as outdoor atmos sounds for the exterior shots as well as a more interior, bedroom atmos for the woman's room.

Other sounds that come to my mind at this point include:

- Breathing
- Clock ticking
- unintelligible whispers
- Air Raid Siren
