Sound: Session One

In our first session with Neil we began looking through the module as a whole and started to work with Soundtrack Pro to create our own sound for a movie clip. That is our first task and during the session Neil showed us some ways to begin the work and allowed us the freedom to experiment with the program ourselves. Below is a screenshot from my Soundtrack Pro project, I chose to use the clip from Solaris.

My process was to watch and mark the clip so that I knew where all the cuts were and then begin to find sounds from the media server to create the audio in the piece. In the actual task I would like to use as many of my own sounds and foley as possible but for the exercise I used other peoples. Below is a short video of what I was able to complete during the session. I will use this as a rough idea as to the direction i'd like to go during this module.
