Creative Project Realisation: Colour Grading in Final Cut Pro & After Effects

I've been experimenting with the Colour Grading options available to me on Final Cut Pro, I found two colour correction tools that were helpful and will allow me to achieve the effect I want for this film. For these examples I have used some footage of mine.

This is the 3-way Colour correction tool, it allows me to change the colour levels for the blacks, mids and whites in the image. Using this I have a lot of control over the colour and tone of the video  however the changes can be gradual and not so profound.

This tool is called simply Colour correction and appears to be a simpler version of the 3-way correction tool. The benefit I found here was with the hue and saturation options which gave me really profound colour modes. It is this kind of effect I want for my scenes, however I had little control over the luminosity so this tool should be used sparingly.

After exploring the options available to me on Final Cut I felt I still needed to find more of a photo filter tool. This led me to After Effects, here I was able to find a cool effect that gave me the exact photo filters I was looking for. Below are some screens of me editing a clip of mine to fit with the colour of the rooms in my film.
